Importing Demo Content

Follow these steps to set up your site with the pre-built demo content, widgets, and customizer settings in just a few minutes.

📦

Download the Demo Content Package

Click the button below to download the official demo content .zip file. Once downloaded, unzip it — you'll find 3 files inside that you'll import in the steps below.

Download Demo Package .zip

Once you unzip the file, you will find 3 files inside. Each file handles a different part of your site's setup:

1
content.xml
All demo pages, posts, menus, and media attachments
XML
2
widget.wie
Sidebar and footer widget configurations
WIE
3
customizer.dat
Theme Customizer settings — colors, fonts, logo, layout
DAT

Before importing, make sure all required plugins are installed and activated. When you first activate the theme, an admin notice will appear at the top of your dashboard prompting you to install them automatically via TGMPA — click "Begin installing plugins" and activate all of them.

⚠ Important: All five plugins must be both installed and activated before you proceed. If any plugin is missing, the demo import may fail or your site may not look like the demo.

With all plugins active, you're ready to import. Follow the steps below to manually upload each file through the One Click Demo Import plugin.

1

Navigate to the Import Page

Go to your WordPress dashboard and open the demo import panel under Appearance.

2

Manual Import

On the import page, look for the "Manual Demo File Import" section to access the individual file upload fields.

3

Upload Each File to Its Field

Upload each of the 3 files from your unzipped package to the correct field as shown in the table below:

FieldUpload This FileWhat It Does
Content Filecontent.xmlImports all pages & posts
Widget Filewidget.wieRestores widget areas
Customizer Filecustomizer.datApplies theme settings
⚠ Heads up: Importing demo content will not delete your existing posts, but it will overwrite Customizer settings and widget areas. It's strongly recommended to do this on a fresh WordPress install.
4

Run the Import

Click the Import button and wait for the process to complete. Do not close or refresh the tab while it runs — it may take a minute or two depending on your server speed and content size.

5

Change the Permalink Structure

After the import, go to Settings → Permalinks and set the structure to "Post name". This ensures that your site's URLs are clean and SEO-friendly.

6

Set the Home Page

After the import, go to Settings → Reading and set the Homepage to "Home" and the Posts Page to "Blog".

✓ All done! Once complete, visit your site's front page to see the demo live. You can now start replacing the placeholder content with your own text, images, and branding.
